For boys who love dirt bikes, a motocross theme party is just the thing for a birthday celebration! Before purchasing party supplies, decide if the party is going to be indoors or outdoors. There are more activity options, if it's held outside. Decorate the space with lots of balloons and checkered flags. Enlarge photos of dirt bikes and use as cutouts. At the entrance hang a "start" banner and at the exit hang a "finish" banner. Cover tables with checkered tablecloths and use black and white paper/plastic products.
As kids arrive to the motocross party, have printable games and other activities ready. A motocross maze or dot-to-dot is lots of fun. Fill a helmet with marshmallows and have the kids write down a guess as to how many are in the helmet. Have cardboard cutouts of dirt bikes that are at least two feet long and lots of art supplies. Have each child color or paint a dirt bike. Tape the bikes to a wooden post and stick in the ground or lean the bikes against a wall.
Party games for a motocross party could include a bicycle obstacle course. Have one team compete against another. Make an obstacle course for remote control motorbikes. Play a game of Red Light, Green Light. If possible, invite someone who owns a dirt bike to drive his bike to the party. Have him explain the necessary clothing and some of the safety factors. Take a picture of each child sitting on the dirt bike and enclose it with his thank you note.
