Cheerleading parties are a hit with young girls! A good start with party supplies is to purchase helium balloons in the school colors. Using poster board, make signs that read, "Go Team!", "Can't be Beat!" and "Score!" Hang streamers that coordinate with the balloons. Use the same colors for tablecloths and plasticware.
For some fun cheerleading activities, split the girls into two to four teams. Have each team come up with their own cheerleading routine. Provide paper and pencils to write down the cheer. Also give each team a box with props, such as pompoms, megaphones, etc. After a set amount of time, have the teams present their routines. In advance, make megaphones out of cardboard. When there's a lull in the party let each girl decorate her own megaphone to take home.
Printable games come in handy for a cheerleading party. Using a popular school cheer, type out the cheer with missing words. The girl who can correctly fill in the blanks wins a prize. For another game, have a printout of a coloring page of a cheerleader. Encourage the girls to design the cheerleader's outfit anyway they choose and to add props. Hand out prizes for the most creative, the craziest, etc. Be sure that each girl wins at least one prize during the party.
Cheerleading party games should involve fun competition. If possible, borrow two cheerleading outfits. Add sneakers, funny socks and pompoms. Divide the girls into two teams and have a relay race dressing up as a cheerleader. Since cheerleaders need good balance, see who can stand the longest on one foot. Of course, Twister will really test the girls' coordination, or at least provide a lot of laughs!
