Whether planning a party at a bowling alley or at home, a bowling party is lots of fun! For some of these party ideas, they'll need to be prepared in advance. If the party is for kids, purchase inexpensive tee-shirts and iron-on transfer sheets. On the computer, create a fun design and run the transfer sheets through your printer. Kids will love having matching shirts and being part of a special league. From a candle shop, purchase round candles. Use a permanent marker to give the appearance of finger holes for bowling balls. On the day of the party, decorate with Mylar bowling pins and round latex balloons.
When planning the bowling party, have some printable games on hand. When people first arrive, have bowling balls of different weights. Give each person a piece of paper and a pencil and have them guess the weight of each ball. Provide a word search and other puzzles with a bowling theme to keep people occupied until the party officially begins.
Ready for some fun bowling party games? For a bowling party at home, set up a child's bowling came at the end of a table. Using a tennis ball and straws, have the kids work in pairs blowing through the straws to knock down the pins with the tennis ball. Ball rolls off the table? Gutter ball! Remember musical chairs? Set up bowling pins (make pins out of plastic salad dressing bottles) in the center of the floor. Have the kids walk around the pins, when the music stops, everyone needs to snatch a pin. For bowling parties held at the bowling alley, plan some fun bowling activities, such as bowling with a blindfold on, coming up with a team chant, or a contest for the wackiest footstep used for bowling.
