Start off the baseball season with a MLB baseball party for your neighbors and friends! Fire up the grill, get out the lawn chairs and have some fun! Be sure to stock up on party supplies--hamburgers and hotdogs, sodas, decorations, and items for games and activities. Since it's an outdoor party, keep the decorations simple by using a few Mylar baseball and bat balloons. If there's enough space, use chalk or paint to make a baseball diamond to use for some of the activities.
For the little kids, plan a few baseball activities, such as a modified game of baseball using a plastic bat and a rubber ball. Encourage all of the kids to take turns at batting. Divide the kids into two groups for a relay race. Each team member has to put on adult size sweatpants, sweatshirt , sneakers and a baseball cap, run the bases, remove the outfit and tag the next person.
Adults need in on the baseball party games as well. Play a game of reverse baseball. People have to bat with their non-dominant hand and run the bases in the opposite direction. Be prepared to have a lot of laughs as people get confused about which direction they're headed. Once everyone is worn out from playing, bring out the printable games. It's time for baseball trivia and listing as many MLB teams as people can remember. For the kids, provide wordsearches, a baseball maze or coloring pages. Your guests are sure to have a fun time!
