Make your child's birthday party a home run by using a baseball theme! There's all sorts of options when it comes to party supplies. Decorate the place with large baseball cutouts, balloons and a baseball piņata. Fill the piņata with candy and baseball related toys and stickers. For one of the party activities, blindfold kids one at a time, hand them a baseball ball, and let them try to break the piņata.
As the kids begin to arrive, have them sign a baseball for the guest-of-honor. (Later, when cake and ice cream is served, present the baseball.) Once all the kids have arrived, start the party with fun printable games. Give everyone a baseball theme pencil to use. For the first game, create a word search containing the 30 Major League Baseball teams. Have the kids work in pairs to find as many of the teams as possible. For a bigger challenge, don't list the teams! A baseball trivia game would also be fun.
So many party games and activities go well with a baseball theme. Play a game of wiffle ball or use a plastic bat and a large rubber ball for a modified game of baseball. Set up a game where kids can knock over cans or bottles with a baseball to win prizes . While everyone is seated for refreshments, have the kids design their own baseball caps. Purchase inexpensive caps, fabric paint and foam stickers. Hand out prizes (i.e. most creative, the most decorative, etc.) and make sure that each kid receives a prize.
